Fall Recruitment Timeline

Marketing & Outreach:
  • Reach out to professors to mention blueprint (3rd week of classes)

    • Shudong, Bonelli, Zumrut, Hill

  • Announce through socials and discord about Fall recruitment dropping
Application Drops (Sept 4 - Oct  2):
  • Applicants fill out Google form

  • Track Applications in spreadsheet, send out 1 day reminder before it closes

Week 1: Challenge Phase (Oct 4th - Oct 10th)
  • Release challenge along with rules for Dev, Designer, PM

    • Reuse old challenges, with slight alteration if need be

    • Add Git/Github task for devs

    • AI allowed as long they can explain their code and AI workflow used

  • Available to answer questions if need be

  • Encourage collaboration but make it clear each student submits their own work.

Week 2: Review Phase (Oct 11 - Oct 13)
  • Divide submissions among reviewers (20–30 min per submission).

  • Enter feedback into an applicant tracker.

  • Shortlist candidates for coffee chats.

  • Time estimate: 8–10 hrs total, split among reviewers.

Week 3: Coffee Chats (Oct 14 - Oct 20)
  • Format: 20–30 min informal conversations.

  • Focus Questions:

    • Tell me about a time you took initiative on your own.

    • How do you stay motivated without external deadlines?

    • What role do you usually play in a team?

    • How do you handle conflict in group projects?

  • Documented each interviewee briefly (pros/cons in tracker)

Announcement & Onboarding (Oct 24/25)
  • Announce Acceptance and Rejections

  • Move toward discussing onboarding steps

Potential Projects
  • Blueprint Internal Project

  • Shift Fall recruits to current project teams

    • Possibly scale up features/goals in Spring is manageable
