2023-2024
In-Reach (In-Progress expected to be completed by the end of 2024)
Project Description
AAD hosts an annual event where mentees can meet their potential mentors. At the end of the event, the mentees and mentors rank their preferences. AAD processes the mentor rankings manually, which takes over 48 hours of manual matching each year. The goal of the project isaims to design a matching algorithm for AAD's KIN mentorship program and a directory that allows mentors and mentees to view each other's profiles.

NYC-Mesh
NYC Mesh is an organization dedicated to bridging the digital divide in New York City by providing high-speed, reliable internet access. They host and build a neutral internet network that allows residents to connect without monitoring, data collection, or content blocking, preserving user privacy and autonomy.
Project Description
NYC Mesh manages and installs antennas to provide free internet service across the different boroughs in New York City. Each antenna produces an area of service availability called the sector lobe. The sector lobe points in the same direction as the antenna is directed; however, if the sector lobes of two different antennas overlap, they can cause interference, thereby reducing the service availability in the area. To manage this, we created a web application that lets NYC Mesh member modify the direction and frequencies of the antennas to verify that new installations do not break the service availability in certain areas.
